Adam’s practice focusses on international trade, commodities and shipping matters.
He advises on contentious matters, particularly international arbitration – both ad hoc and arbitrations under the LMAA, GAFTA, FOSFA, ICC, SIAC, SCMA and UNCITRAL Rules alike – and has worked on a variety of commercial litigation matters, including those relating to letters of credit and business rates.
With regards to non-contentious matters, Adam drafts and advises on a range of physical commodities contracts (including storage, warehousing, marketing and distribution agreements), structured trade finance (including repos, prepayments and pre-export financings) and trade/transportation project documentation.
A regular speaker at commodities seminars and industry events, he has also delivered training on SCoTA contracts and GAFTA contracts, amongst others.
Adam has completed three secondments to clients as in-house legal counsel; two at international trading companies and a third supporting the physical commodity trading desk of an international bank, specialising in structured trade transactions. Adam was ranked as one of Singapore’s top 20 most promising legal luminaries aged under 40 (Singapore Business Review, 2018).
